VEC is committed to hiring staff and recruiting board members that reflect the community we serve. VEC’s 2022 Board of Directors is 50% BIPOC, and 58% are first-or second-generation immigrants.
VEC has expanded its board to match its enormous growth and community needs, bringing highly experienced board members that are well respected in their respective communities. Currently, the board consists of 12 members who reflect the community’s diverse demographics. Our board is also representative of different businesses and industries, including a corporate lawyer, two nonprofit leaders, a real estate developer, and an entrepreneur/auto mechanic.
Board members contribute financially, either with personal cash contributions, in-kind services, or fundraising to reach targeted goals. Additionally, each board member commits to serving on at least one committee which were established to focus on fundraising/friendraising, governance and strategic planning.
