Teresa Torres

Senior Manager of Health Equity & Food Security

Teresa began her work with the Aurora community as a volunteer at Aurora Community Connection Family Resource Center in 2011 and became a full-time employee in 2015.  In 2022, Teresa accepted the position as Senior Manager of Health Equity & Food Security at the Village Exchange Center; an opportunity to continue serving the community in Aurora in different meaningful ways.  Teresa has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado, as well as a master’s in public health from Capella University.  Teresa is a trained nutritionist, certified lactation counselor and certified Health Insurance Navigator.   Teresa has helped families navigate community-based health resources and also manage, coordinate and implement different health programs.  Currently, Teresa is supporting the Village Pantry, Village Farm and the Health Cultural Navigation program at VEC.
